MINISTRY

An essential part of belonging to a church community is utilizing our time, talents and treasures to serve the church body. We believe that God has entrusted/gifted all believers with some measure of time, talents and treasures and we desire to help you discover an area of ministry that would allow each student to express their faith through service. Below are some of our existing ministry opportunities with students who are involved in each of these ministries. If you identify an unrealized area of potential ministry, please speak to one of our pastors about developing such a ministry.

Student Servant Leaders

Servant Leaders are students who through discipleship training have identified their heart, passion and giftedness as well as an ministry area of affinity. In demonstrating faithfulness with smaller responsibilities, they have been entrusted a greater responsibility of serving/leading other students who desire to serve. Here are our current student servant leaders.

Altared Life Praise Team (Contact: Eunice Chong, Tim Hwang)

Altared Life is our youth worship band. What’s with the misspelled name, you ask? It’s a play on the homonym “alter”/”altar” (thanks David Son for this contribution!). Our lives have been “altered” (changed/transformed) by our relationship with Jesus Christ and subsequently we “altar” (sacrifice/dedicate) our lives to God in service through the gift and passion of music He has placed in our hearts. Altared Life consists of student “lead worshippers” (worshippers who take the lead in responding to who God is and what He has done) seeking to live out a lifestyle of worship, not just perform praise with our mouths and instruments once a week.

Compassion Correspondence (Contacts: Eunice Chong)

Compassion Correspondence Team consists of students who regularly write our Compassion-supported children from around the world (Asia, Africa and Latin America) and creatively remind our Youth Ministry the importance of sharing our blessings with those who are in need. Compassion International is a child sponsorship program that provides opportunities for education, health and personal development as well as introducing the person of Jesus Christ in a church-based program in the child’s neighborhood.
